Take an active role in shaping the future of success of the arts in Manitoba.
The Manitoba Arts and Cultural Alliance was created in 2012 to advance arts, culture, heritage and creativity in this province. MACA believes arts and culture are crucial to Manitoba’s prosperity and quality of life. MACA will devise ways to advance the creative sector and promote more participation and engagement.

MACA’s First Annual General Meeting
The first Annual General Meeting of the MACA Members will be held on June 18th 2013 at 3:00 pm at the Winnipeg Folk Festival’s “The Folk Exchange” – 211 Bannatyne Avenue. You will receive a package in advance of this detailing the process for Board elections but we wanted to ensure you had enough lead time to hold the date. I do hope you will be able to attend.
Following up on MACA’s provincial budget analysis, we have communicated with the Government to highlight the items detailed in the analysis and to keep pathways open for ongoing dialogue. We have also sent letters to Winnipeg City Councillor Russ Wyatt and Mayor Sam Katz in response to Russ Wyatt’s recent proposed budget which included amongst a litany of cuts, the elimination of support to Museums and the Winnipeg Arts Council. Needless to say, we are strongly opposed to these suggestions.
