Arts & Culture Day at the Leg

MACA’s inaugural Arts & Cultural Day at the Leg on November 13, 2012 was a success!

On November 13th 2012, MACA celebrated the first Arts and Culture Day at the Leg. The day consisted of meetings between delegates from MACA and the caucuses of the PC, NDP and Liberal parties; and an open reception at day’s end.

In the caucus meetings, MACA delegates introduced our organization, highlighted the social and economic impact of the creative sector, discussed current provincial support for arts, culture and heritage, and talked about ways we could work together in the future. We found MLAs from each party to be receptive and interested.

The reception was well attended by members from the arts, culture and heritage community, patrons, staff from a number of provincial departments, the Premier and MLAs from each party. There was great energy in the room.

This first, of what we expect to be an annual event, was a great success and was a terrific step in building relationships with our provincial politicians. Many thanks to all that were able to attend the reception. Click on the link below to view materials from the presentations to the caucuses.
